West Ham Rival Turkish Giants For Chelsea Striker Olivier Giroud

West Ham are plotting a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to the Mirror.

The latest development could come as a blow to Besiktas’ plans to sign the striker.

The Mirror report claims that the Hammers have a long-standing interest in the France international who has less than a year remaining on his contract.

West Ham reportedly made a move for Giroud before his transfer from Arsenal to Chelsea.

The 2018 World Cup winner rejected the Irons but they could be back in the running for Giroud in January.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has been looking to strengthen his attack with Andy Carroll’s contact set to run out over the summer.

Turkish-Football can confirm that Giroud is also a Besiktas target.

The Black Eagles added the striker to their shortlist as they continue efforts to sign a centre-forward to replace Alvaro Negredo.

The Black-Whites are keen on strikers with less than 12 months remaining on their contract or loan moves.

Besiktas are in the midst of a crisis up front with just Vagner Love and Cyle Larin available as first-choice strikers.

Head coach Senol Gunes has been forced to play Ryan Babel up front from time to time this term.

Giroud has four assists in eight appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season. It remains to be seen what long-term plans Maurizio Sarri has for the experienced striker.
