Stuttgart attacking midfielder Berkay Ozcan opened up about his goals for the future in a recent interview with Tam Saha magazine.
Ozcan revealed that if he leaves Stuttgart he wants a Premier League or La Liga move.
“My dream is to move to the Premier League or Real Madrid or Barcelona,” Ozcan said.
“I really want to move to England or Spain but need to keep improving my game to realise this goal.”
The latest statement will come as a boost to Arsenal who have a long-standing interest in the Turkey international.
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on Ozcan for the past two-years.
“My agent and I are in talks with Arsenal,” Ozcan said last February.
“Arsenal have been scouting me for the past two years and send representatives to watch my games.
“My agent is in direct talks for them.
“I am not sure if now is the right time to join Arsenal, it may be a bit early for me.
“I want to prove myself here and keep developing first.
“Ultimately, Arsenal is the club I want to join in the future, god willing I will achieve my goal.”
Sources close to Ozcan revealed to Turkish-Football that they remain in contact with representatives from Arsenal who have been keeping tabs on his progress.
The 20-year-old has yet to make his mark in the Stuttgart first-team this term playing just 10 minutes of Bundesliga football but he is expected to get more game time action as the season progresses.
Ozcan made his Turkey international debut in June against Tunisia and now has three caps under his belt.
The rising star has risen through the youth ranks at Stuttgart since joining from Karlsruhe at U17 level.
The attacking midfielder has four goals and seven assists in 45 appearances for Stuttgart in all competitions.
