Besiktas president Fikret Orman is set to travel to London next month for talks with West Ham over the transfer of Javier Hernandez – also known as Chicharito.

Sources close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that the club sent officials over to England over the weekend for negotiations with Chicharito’s representatives over a January move.

Besiktas board member Umut Guner was in London to open up negotiation channels over a potential move over the winter transfer window.

The Istanbul giants put forward a loan offer until the end of the season which would include an upfront fee.

The Black-Whites also want to include a release clause option for the Mexico international who is out of contract in 2020.

Chicharito is the highest paid West Ham player earning £145,000 a-week but has been in poor form this term.

The 30-year-old has scored just twice this season and has struggled for playing time in the West Ham side.

Besiktas are in desperate need of a striker after a poor start to the season.

The board do not see Vagner Love, Cyle Larin and Mustafa Pektemek as viable first-choice options up front.
