Manchester United have stepped up interest in Roma starlet Cengiz Under a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.
United are keen on signing a winger in January and have targetted Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic but Under is also on their shortlist.
Calciomercato report that Inter could reduce their asking price from £48m to £31m in January for 29-year-old Perisic but Under is the younger option aged just 21.
The Red Devils have approached Under’s representatives through intermediaries regarding his availability.
Roma value Under as being worth in the region of £44.5m but are keen on keeping him at the club until the end of the season.
United have been scouting the 21-year-old throughout the season but could face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City.
The Gunners have been closely linked with Under after keeping close tabs on him.
The Turkey international is keen on a move to England and the is open to the idea of living in London in the future.
City meanwhile were on the verge of signing the young winger before his move to Roma and have kept communication channels open.
Roma are currently in talks with Under’s representatives over a pay rise.
The rising star is one of the lowest paid players in the first-team earning around €1m per-season.
Under currently has another four-years remaining on his current contract.
The Giallorossi star has three goals and five assists in 14 appearances in all competitions this season.
