Galatasaray suffered yet another away defeat in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The Lions find themselves in third spot in Group D following three losses and a draw in their last three Champions League games.
Those of you interested in soccer betting should know that Wednesday’s defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow means Fatih Terim’s side can no longer advance to the next stage of the competition.
There is however still plenty to play for. Both Galatasaray and Lokomotiv can still qualify for the Europa League.
Galatasaray faces FC Porto in their final group stage game knowing a win will guarantee them a third spot finish. However, Galatasaray can still book their spot in the Europa League with a defeat should Lokomotiv sufferer a defeat to Schalke 04.
Meanwhile, both Porto and Schalke 04 will be vying for a 1st place finish.
Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim has found himself under pressure from fans following their recent run of results.
The experienced tactician has however been constrained by the clubs difficult financial situation.
Galatasaray lost last seasons top goalscorer Bafetemi Gomis and their first-choice centre-back Jason Denayer over the summer transfer window and are yet to replace the duo.
To make matters worse, summer signing Emre Akbaba broke his foot in October and is ruled out until January.
