Besiktas beat Galatasaray 1-0 in the Istanbul derby at the Vodafone Park Stadium on Sunday in the Super Lig.

Liverpool loanee Loris Karius started in goal for the Black Eagles and managed to keep a clean sheet for just the second time this season.

Karius put on an impressive display and had a message for the fans after the game with his post-match tweet.

The 25-year-old shared a photograph celebrating with the team alongside the message: “Istanbul is black and white”

Besiktas’ colors are of course black and white so it probably went down with the home faithful – and not so well with Galatasaray supporters.

Karius also congratulated his teammates for their performance against the reigning Super Lig champions.

Besiktas fans showed their appreciation for Karius by calling him over after the game to lead the chants.

The victory moved the Black-Whites into third place in the league table.
