Cengiz Under got himself on the scoresheet once against in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night while Arsenal’s scouts were watching.
The 21-year-old has attracted the attention of major European clubs this season following a string of impressive performances both in Europe and in the Serie A.
Under has managed to secure his place in Roma’s starting eleven in recent weeks and has racked up five assists and five goals in 19 appearances.
A source close to the Turkey international has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Arsenal scouts were present at the Doosan Arena.
Under – who has been nicknamed the Under’taker – has over three-years remaining on his contract with the Serie A giants. However, the former Altinordu star is one of the first-teams lowest earners while Roma are understood to be willing to sell him for £50 million.
The Italian side will need to pay Basaksehir 20 per cent of any transfer fee.
Roma qualified to the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League despite Wednesday night’s defeat.
Under has previously expressed his desire to play Premier League football.
“Among the leagues, I want to play in are La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League,” Under stated back in 2017.
“But I want to play in the Premier League the most.”
Arsenal are back in actin tonight when they take on Qarabag in the Europa League.
