Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil’s days at the Emirates may be numbered according to the latest report from the Independent.
Per the source, Unai Emery is uneasy with the presence of a player of Ozil’s reputation and influence in the dressing room.
Furthermore, Emery wants to avoid the reoccurrence of the dressing room situation he had at PSG which eventually lead to his exit.
The Spanish tactician was often forced to tow the line regarding Neymar given how much the Brazil international had cost.
The Independent goes onto state that Emery is a fan of how Pep Guardiola deals with high-profile players he no longer needs and wants to replicate the Man City boss’ methods.
However, Ozil only recently penned a mega-money deal with Arsenal and is understood to be happy in north London.
Ozil returned to Premier League football on Sunday following an injury lay-off. The Gunners suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Southampton putting an end to their 22 game unbeaten run.
Arsenal are back in action this week when they take on their bitter north London rivals Tottenham in the League Cup.
The Gunners next Premier League fixture is up against Burnley FC at the Emirates Stadium.
Ozil has over two years remaining on his contract with Arsenal. The 30-year-old has racked up two assists and four goals in 14 games for the Gunners this season.
