Arsenal take on Fulham at the Emirates Stadium in their first game of 2019 hoping to return to winning ways after a 5-1 defeat against Liverpool.

The Gunners will be without Mesut Ozil who is reported to be out with a knee injury.

Ozil has struggled for playing time recently due to injuries starting just one of his last eight games.

The playmaker of Turkish origin has four goals and two assists in all competitions this term.

Additionally, Hector Bellerin has also been ruled out of the matchday squad.

Star striker Alexandre Lacazette returns to the starting lineup after being benched against the Reds.

The North London based outfit head into the game in 5th place on 38 points and will be able to close the gap Chelsea who sit in 4th to just two points.

Fulham meanwhile are 19th in the league on 14 points but could move into 17th with a victory.
