Arsenal take on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday in the FA Cup 3rd Round tie.

Gunners boss Unai Emery gave an injury update on Thursday afternoon where he revealed that Mesut Ozil was not part of the morning training session.

The playmaker of Turkish origin is unlikely to feature against Blackpool going by Emery’s latest comments.

When asked whether the 30-year-old would play against the League One side, Emery told reporters at London Colney: “This morning, he didn’t train.”

Ozil has missed the last two Arsenal games due to a knee injury.

The 2014 World Cup winner was rumoured to have missed the games due to a falling out with Emery but those stories have since been denied by his agent and the manager.

The Gunners will also be without Hector Bellerin (calf), Nacho Monreal (hamstring) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin).

Shkodran Mustafi, who came off in the victory over Fulham with a hamstring problem has been sidelined as have Rob Holding (knee), Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck (both ankle).

“It’s a small injury, a small problem,” Emery said after his side’s win against Fulham.

“He didn’t feel well after the first half and said for us to change. It’s not a big injury. He wanted to play today to help us, so maybe we can give him a few days rest to help us. Yes [it’s a hamstring].”
