Leicester City crushed Huddersfield 4-1 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers recalled Caglar Soyuncu for the clash, giving the 22-year-old defender his first appearance of the year.
Soyuncu made his eighth appearance of the season in the process.
Rodgers praised the Turkey international in his post-match comments and put an end to speculation linking him with a summer exit.
Rodgers said as quoted by the Mirror: “He has been very strong but very unfortunate because you are playing one game a week and the team has stability.
“He is a young lad who has come in and I know he played in some of the cup games early on but perhaps things haven’t quite gone for him as he would want, but I have found him a really good boy who wants to learn.
“He is strong and aggressive, but he hasn’t had a lot of game time. He is adapting.”
Rodgers pointed out that Soyuncu struggled initially as he did not speak English – a problem former manager Claude Puel also highlighted.
Soyuncu has however, learnt English and is adapting to life in England.
“It didn’t help he didn’t speak much English at first. Adaption is important so I like to give them time to find their feet and settle in, knowing even in this first year he is adapting,” he added.

Soyuncu could find competition for a first-team role increase further next season as club captain Wes Morgan has signed a one-year extension and Filip Benkovic could be given a role in the team after returning from Celtic in the summer.
The powerful defender joined Leicester City from Freiburg last summer and has another four-years remaining on his contract.
