Everton Release Cenk Tosun Injury Update

Everton have released an injury update regarding the status of striker Cenk Tosun.

The Toffees released a statement on the club website confirming that Tosun will not require an operation for the knee injury he sustained while on international duty last week.

Tosun started in the 2-1 victory over Greece in Antalya on Thursday.

The 27-year-old did not feature in the 2-0 victory over Uzbekistan last Sunday and will not star against France and Iceland in the 2020 European Championship qualifiers next week.

Tosun will return to USM Finch Farm on 1 July for the start of the pre-season.

The striker will work with the Everton medical staff to for his rehabilitation.

Tosun wrapped up the 2018-19 season with four goals and three assists in 29 appearances for Everton.

The former Besiktas man struggled for playing time last season but does have another three-years remaining on his contract.

Tosun has 13 goals in 38 international caps for the Turkey national team.
