Fenerbahce have offered Aleksandar Kolarov a two year deal with a one-year option to extend a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.

The Yellow Canaries are prepared to offer approximately €2.8m per-season which would keep him on similar wages to what he is currently on at Roma.

Kolarov earns approximately €7m per-season at Roma which works out similar to what Fenerbahce is offering once tax is deducted – clubs pay player taxes in Turkey and the tax rate is significantly lower for footballer earnings.

The Serbia international has 12 months left on his Roma contract.

However, interest from Napoli and Inter has resulted in the Giallorossi increasing their asking price for the experienced full-back.

This has made a move to Fenerbahce complicated but the Super Lig side remain committed to negotiating a deal and completing the transfer.

The first round of talks between Fenerbahce and Kolarov went well and he made it clear that he is open to a move to Turkey.

Kolarov is not keen on playing for another rival Italian club after previously playing for Lazio before joining Manchester City in 2010.

As a result he would be likely to stay at Roma were he not to join Fenerbahce – unless he receives another serious offer from outside Italy.

The experienced full-back would join the Yellow Canaries as a first-choice full-back but he wants a three-year deal instead of a two-year plus option to extend.

The 33-year-old is reaching the end of his career and this could be his last major contract deal in Europe.

The experienced full-back scored nine times and provided two assists in 43 appearances for Roma in all competitions last term.
