Liverpool are planning a late swoop for Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz according to TRT Spor journalist Firat Gunayer.

Gunayer reports that the Reds could face competition from two other Premier League sides and that there is also interest from Italy.

He goes onto claim that the spike in interest for Tokoz has caught Besiktas by surprise and that they could end up selling Tokoz for a high fee.

Turkish-Football contacted Besiktas regarding the latest report but the Super Lig outfit declined to respond about Liverpool interest.

The Black Eagles did however, state that there is a lot of interest in the 23-year-old.

If Liverpool were to sign Tokoz he would have to apply for a work permit.

The Reds would have to pay a fee that would put his transfer in the top 25 percent quartile in the league.

Additionally, he would still have to be granted special permission by the FA.

Besiktas signed Tokoz for just €150,000 from Eskisehirspor last season and he went onto become a star name for the club.

Tokoz scored three goals and provided three assists in 20 league games for the Black-Whites and ended up becoming a regular call up for the Turkey national team.
