Daniel Sturridge has turned down an offer from Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor.

Eren Sarigul of Turkish-Football wrote in his latest piece for ESPN that the Black Sea based outfit offered the Sturridge a two-year deal but have been unable to convince him to relocate.

The England international has never played outside of England before and is unsure whether he would be able to settle in Trabzon.

Trabzonspor are prepared to making an improved offer following the sale of Yusuf Yazici to Lille for €16.5m.

The former Liverpool striker is currently a free agent after his contract with the Reds ran to an end this summer.

Trabzonspor are worried that Istanbul based Besiktas and Galatasaray have expressed an interest in Sturridge.

Both sides are in the market for a new striker and Galatasaray, in particular, can offer Champions League football next season.

Istanbul is a more attractive destination for a foreign player due to being more multicultural, having English and non-Turkish language schools.

Additionally, the city has far more amenities and that could be attractive to a highly paid professional footballer.
