Arsenal take on Newcastle today at St James’ Park in their opening Premier League game of the season.

Star playmaker Mesut Ozil and full-back Sead Kolasinac were both forced to miss the game due to ‘security concerns’.

Ozil and Kolasinac were involved in a second incident after being attacked by a knife-wielding moped gang a fortnight ago.

Two men have been charged with a public order offence in relation to the latest incident according to the BBC.

Ferhat Ercan, of Highgate, and Salaman Ekinci, of Tottenham, were arrested on Thursday outside the home of Mesut Ozil in north London.

Ozil and Sead Kolasinac were not in Arsenal’s squad for Sunday’s Premier League opener at Newcastle due to “further security incidents”.

The reports claim that the men were arrested after becoming involved in an altercation with security staff outside the home of Ozil.

“Two men have been charged under Section 4a of the Public Order Act following an incident in Camden on Thursday, 8 August,” the Met said.

Mr Ercan and Mr Ekinci, both 27, will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.

Police revealed that they were treating the public order offence and the moped gang attack as separate incidents.
