Galatasaray will take 90 percent of the Champions League revenues allocated to Turkey following Basaksehir’s elimination from the competition.

The Istanbul minnows were knocked out by Olympiakos losing 3-0 on aggregate over the course of the two legs.

The Lions will therefore become the sole Turkish representatives in the Champions League group stage – as was also the case last season.

The Yellow-Reds earned an additional €8.5m after Basaksehir’s elimination at the playoff stage last term.

Galatasaray are set to receive even higher revenues from the Champions League this term as teams with higher coefficients – Dynamo Kiev, Basel and Porto – were also knocked out.

The reigning Super Lig champions have had an additional €3.3m added to their pot after the three sides mentioned above were eliminated.

Hurriyet sports and economy reporter Ceyhun Kuburlu revealed that Galatasaray have guaranteed €32m and this figure could rise to €41.5m should the Lions progress to the Last 16.
