Mohamed Elneny completed his move from Arsenal to Besiktas on a one-year loan with an €18m option to buy on Saturday.

Elneny confirmed his transfer across his social media channels and sent Arsenal fans a farewell message.

The Egypt international wished all the success to the Gunners this season and that he will be following their progress.

Former Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil who himself had been linked with a move to Turkey dropped a comment on the Instagram post wishing Elneny ‘good luck’.

Elneny was not registered in time for the Black Eagles 1-1 draw against Rizespor over the weekend but did watch the game from the stands at the Vodafone Park stadium.

The 28-year-old is expected to make his debut for the Black-Whites away to Gazisehir on Sunday 15 September after the international break.

Besiktas head into the break in 8th place on four points after three games – having won, lost and drawn so far this term.
