Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul revealed he told Mesut Ozil Arsenal were ‘lucky’ after the north London based side were permitted to retake a spot-kick in their 2-2 draw with Norwich.
The Dutch keeper saved the initial penalty from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but Max Aarons was penalized for entering the penalty box before the ball was struck.
Aubameyang did not miss second time around sending Krul the wrong way and then proceeded to taunt the keeper in his celebration.
Krul was furious afterward and revealed all in his post-match interview telling Sky Sports: “My job is to get into the strikers’ head and get him to doubt. So I took a bit longer than what the referee liked and he gave me rightly the yellow card.
“I saved the first penalty so it was frustrating that it had to be re-taken.
“After they scored I just said to Ozil: ‘you are lucky’ because the referee helped them a lot there.”
Ozil started for the Gunners in the 2-2 draw against Norwich but was unable to score or provide an assist.
