Emre Can subsequently left Liverpool on a free and joined Serie A giants Juventus.

However, Can failed to impress in Turin and fell out of favour with manager Maurizio Sarri.

The 26-year-old was left out of Juventus’ UEFA Champions League squad and joined Borussia Dortmund on loan last month.

Dortmund have the option to buy Can fro £21 million.

Can scored a wonder goal on his debut during Dortmund’s 4-3 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool meanwhile signed Fabinho in Can’s place and went onto win the Champions League last season and look set to win the Premier League this term.
