Besiktas held Galatasaray to a goalless draw in the Istanbul derby at the Turk Telekom Arena in the Super Lig on Sunday.
Liverpool loanee Loris Karius started for the Black Eagles and managed to keep a clean sheet.
Karius kept his eighth clean sheet of the season in the process. The keeper has conceded a total of 46 goals in 32 games for the Istanbul giants this season.
The German keeper has come under heavy criticism from sections of the media and Besiktas fan base this season but he kept his side in the game with important saves in the derby.
In total Karius made four saves over the course of the 90 minutes.
The 25-year-old will return to Liverpool at the end of the season following the end of his two-season loan stay at Besiktas.
The draw changed little in the title race. Besiktas remain nine points behind joint leaders Basaksehir and Trabzonspor.
Galatasaray meanwhile are still three points behind the league leaders.
