Turkish media report Man United & Barcelona want Omer Faruk Beyaz but story does not add up

Fenerbahce rising star Omer Faruk Beyaz has been closely linked with several European giants.

If you take a look at the Turkish media today several newspapers are reporting that the 16-year-old is on the radar of Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Sabah, Fanatik, Takvim were among the newspapers that pretty much shared the same story.

They all quote the Daily Express as being the source of the story.

However, the Express have not reported a new story on Beyaz since January.

The most recent story in the English media regarding Beyaz was two days ago in the Daily Mirror.

The Mirror meanwhile, sourced Turkish publication Fotospor who put out a story last week that the clubs mentioned are keen on Beyaz.

It looks like this is where the mix-up happened.

The Turkish newspapers may have confused the Mirror with the Express.

However, with regards to the report above there appears to have been a mixup that was probably caused by the story getting lost in translation.

Our take

Beyaz is a highly-rated attacking midfielder rising through the Fenerbahce youth ranks and he has been linked with the three clubs mentioned.

Fenerbahce have confirmed to Turkish-Football that several clubs have scouted Beyaz but that they did not disclose names of the interested clubs.

The Yellow-Navies are committed to keeping Beyaz on their books beyond the end of the season and see him as having a role in the first team next term.

It does look like we will continue to see Beyaz being linked with a move abroad for the foreseeable future.
