Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has a little over a year remaining on his contract with the Gunners and is expected to leave the club within the next 18-month period.
The 31-year-old is one of the Gunners highest-paid players and has failed to meet expectations in recent months. Ozil has registered just three assists in all competitions for Arsenal this season.
The Express has put a list together of seven potential playmakers Arsenal could sign to replace Mesut Ozil.
Interestingly, Turkey 21 ace Orkun Kokcu has come in at second place. The 19-year-old has broken into Feyenoord’s first-team this season and already has three goals and six assists to his name.
Kokcu has been valued at approximately £23 million and can also operate from a deeper midfield role.
List of 7 potential Mesut Ozil replacements:
- Jonathan David
- Orkun Kokcu
- Diego Jota
- James Rodriguez
- Christoper Nkunku
- Emiliano Buendia
- Mohamed Ihattaren
However, Ozil has maintained his role as a key member of Arsenal’s starting eleven following the appointment of Mikel Arteta in place of Unai Emery. The Germany international is understood to be happy with life in London and is not seeking a move away in the near future.
