Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has been involved in a pay dispute with Besiktas throughout the coronavirus disruptions.

Elneny has been locked in talks with Besiktas over unpaid wages but an agreement has yet to be reached.

According to the Fanatik, the Egypt international may have played his last game for the Black Eagles.

Elneny has given the Black Eagles another ultimatum.

Per the source, the 27-year-old will neither train nor play for Besiktas until the club agrees to pay what he is owed.

The experienced midfielder also wants payment until the end of the season – technically his loan contract expired on 30 June but has been extended to the end of the month so he can see out the season.

However, the financial details of the extension are uncertain as Besiktas did not disclose the terms.

Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin will reportedly not force Elneny to play but will continue to use the midfielder if he wants to continue playing.

It looks highly unlikely that Elneny will stay on at Besiktas beyond the end of the season.

The midfielder will return to Arsenal once the season is over although he could technically return with immediate effect on the grounds of non-payment of wages.
