Despite finishing as runners-up Trabzonspor will not compete in the Champions League next season due to receiving a ban from UEFA over breaching their Financial Fair Play agreement.
As a result the club will have to sell players in order to make additional signings and meet their FFP terms in order to avoid further punishment.
Ekuban has another two-years remaining on his Trabzonspor contract.
The Ghana international was born in Italy and has EU citizenship and has previously played for Chievo, FK Partizani and Leeds United.
