Crystal Palace striker focused on staying in Turkey despite RB Leipzig transfer rumours

Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth has been linked with a move to RB Leipzig.

Sorloth however, is focusing on next season at Trabzonspor.

The Norway international spent last season on loan at the Black Sea based side and despite transfer rumors linking him with a summer exit he does have another 12 months on his loan deal.

Sorloth spoke about his future in an interview with the IHA newspaper.

The striker revealed that he is really happy to be working with head coach Eddie Newton and that all he is focused on is next season at the club.

“I am looking forward to the new season,” he said.

“I’ve been working really hard in training and Eddie Newton has upped the level, we are training a lot harder now. 

“The new manager has been working on developing my game and has some really great ideas. 

“I get the feeling we are going to have a really good season.”

Trabzonspor finished last season as runners-up and won the Turkish Cup.

Sorloth was the top scorer in Turkey last term netting 33 times and providing 11 assists in all competitions.

The 24-year-old scored 24 times and provided nine assists in the league.

The striker has been linked with a several clubs after his impressive season but Trabzonspor loaned him for 24 months and Palace do not have a recall option.

Additionally, Trabzonspor have a €6m buy option.
