Leicester City want Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak according to the Daily Mail.

Per the source, the Foxes want a new centre-back and Kabak is among their targets.

Kabak could partner with fellow Turkey international Caglar Soyuncu if he were to make the move.

The 20-year-old defender was closely linked with Liverpool last month.

Bild reported that the Reds and Schalke have been in contact over a potential transfer deal.

The Reds are reportedly keen on the young centre-back who is valued at £35m.

The Foxes also signed Soyuncu from the Bundesliga.

Leicester paid Freiburg £20m [Transfermarkt] for Soyuncu in 2018.

The defender spent most of his first season on the bench but filled in for Harry Maguire last season and established himself as a key player.

Soyuncu and Kabak are teammates in the Turkey national team setup and both featured in the back-four which qualified for Euro 2020 conceding just three goals in 10 games in a group including world champions France.

Kabak was signed by Schalke on a £13.5m move from Stuttgart last July.

The defender scored three goals and provided one assist in 26 league games last term.
