Trabzonspor enter the race to sign Manchester United target Nigel De Jong
[divider]Trabzonspor have set their sights on AC Milan’s Netherlands international Nigel De Jong. According to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet, the Black Sea based side have requested a meeting with the 30-year-old’s agent.
Fenerbahce are also understood to be interested in signing the experienced defensive midfielder.
De Jong’s contract with AC Milan is up in June and the Serie A giants have held negotiations about a possible extension. The former Manchester City player is seeking a deal worth €5.5million a year.
According to the newspaper the Mirror, Manchester United are also interested in De Jong and have already held talks with the player.

Trabzonspor president Ibrahim Hacıosmanoğlu wants to build a side that will compete for the league title. Hacıosmanoğlu underlined that the Black Sea Storm will be title contenders next season.
“Trabzonspor will hit the league like a storm next season, we will be title contenders,” Hacıosmanoğlu was quoted as saying by Eurosport TR.
Trabzonspor are currently fifth in the league, only goal difference separates the Black Sea Storm and fourth placed Başakşehir.
