“It’s a really important win. This is a really tough place to come. A tough stadium with the fans pushing them on. It made things difficult for us, especially in the first half. In the second half we were a bit more calm, better on the ball and took our chances. To have nine points after three games is really important,” said Kane.

“It’s my first time in this stadium and I’m just about getting my hearing back now. Amazing, credit to the Galatasaray fans and obviously our away fans as well. This is what football’s all about, doing it in tough atmospheres on a big occasion. Thankfully we were able to come through it today.”

After Kingsley Coman gave Bayern the lead in the 8th minute, Galatasaray put them under intense pressure. Bayern were dangerous on the counter-attack, but Galatasaray’s high press made it difficult for them to build from the back.

Mauro Icardi equalized for Galatasaray with a cheeky panenka penalty in the 30th minute and they could have scored more in the first half but for some excellent saves from Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

The raucous atmosphere at RAMS Park spurred on the home side and made it difficult for Bayern to settle into their rhythm. However, Bayern were stronger in the second half and scored two more goals as Galatasaray started to tire.

He is also pleased with his own performance, having now scored 11 goals and provided six assists across all competitions.
