Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes that the club is in a lot of trouble in their Champions League group and that their upcoming match against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday is a must-win.
Erik ten Hag’s team lost their opening match of the Champions League to Galatasaray 3-2 at home with goals from Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi.

United recovered to beat Copenhagen 1-0 at Old Trafford two weeks ago, thanks to a goal from Harry Maguire and a late penalty save from André Onana.
Scholes highlighted the defeat at home against Galatasaray in particular as being a ‘big regret’. And that United should not be losing against ‘a team like that at home’.
Although he did admit that is was not a ‘big surprise’ that they did lose based on how they have been playing recently.
“They’re [Manchester United] in big trouble,” Scholes told TNT Sports.
“I always say in the Champions League, win your home games and try and get a draw or a win in an away game and you usually qualify.
“The Galatasaray game is a big regret. You should never lose to a team like that at home. The way United were playing, confidence was low – it wasn’t a big surprise.
“They were very lucky at home against Copenhagen, they didn’t play very well at all. They have half a chance of qualifying.
“It’s so hard going to Copenhagen, these European away games are tough. If they make it a hostile atmosphere, you have to worry about the frailty of Manchester United – they could really crumble under that pressure.”
Galatasaray pulled off a huge upset in beating United at Old Trafford in the Champions League, their first win in England in 11 attempts.
Manchester United are currently third in Group A, one point behind Galatasaray and six points behind Bayern Munich. They still have to travel to Turkey to play Galatasaray, and then finish their group campaign at home against Bayern Munich.
Galatasaray play Bayern Munich away from home next in the Champions League on Wednesday.
