Ilkay Gundogan will not be joining Galatasaray in January despite reports in Turkiye claiming his agent held talks with the club.

As quoted by SPORT, the Barcelona midfielder said: “I am very happy in Spain, in my club.”
His recent comments echo the denials made by his agent, Ilhan Gundogan, who asserted that the rumors were unfounded.
Gundogan’s agent Ilhan Gundogan denied the reports making it clear he did not meet anyone from Galatasaray before the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich in Germany.
“The reports in the press these days about Ilkay do not reflect the truth. I did not meet anyone from Galatasaray before the Bayern Munich game to talk about Ilkay. There was no development, meeting or anything that came to us in this regard,” Ilhan Gundogan said.
“I want to make this clear. Neither I nor Ilkay can understand how this news came about. Ilkay is very happy at Barcelona and is focused on what he wants to achieve there and on his goals.”
Gundogan’s commitment to Barcelona is evident in his impressive performances since joining the club, scoring a goal and providing five assists in 17 matches in all competitions.
With a contract extending until 2025, with an option for an additional year based on performance-related objectives, Gundogan’s future is firmly rooted at Barcelona.
