This latest twist comes despite Martial reportedly favoring a Manchester stay until the summer.

Rumors have swirled around the Frenchman for months, and the January transfer window promises to be a rollercoaster ride before its February 1st closure.

His agent’s Turkey visit fuels speculation of a summer switch, as Martial, a free agent in June, can freely speak to foreign clubs now.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce, long-term admirers, have been linked with a €8 million bid, and their recent success, potential Champions League qualification, and presence of Martial’s former teammate Fred might be appealing.

Galatasaray, another Istanbul contender, has also shown interest.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are currently locked in a two horse title race at the top of the Süper Lig table.

United’s reluctance to extend Martial’s contract further muddies the water. Although they may prefer his short-term presence, his free agent status allows him to explore his options abroad.

Martial has two goals and two assists in 19 appearances in all competitions for United this season. The forward has been used in rotation and has played just 629 minutes of first team football this term.
