Rangers Defender Wants to Stay at Rangers Despite Galatasaray Offer

Ridvan Yilmaz wants to stay at Rangers despite offers from Galatasaray, sources have told Turkish-Football.

Yilmaz is settled at Rangers and delighted after breaking into the team. He does not want to return to Istanbul despite interest from the Turkish giants.

Despite transfer whispers linking Yilmaz with Hellas Verona and Galatasaray, Yilmaz wants to remain in Glasgow.

There have been several reports in the Turkish media that the Lions have made an offer and agreed personal terms with Yilmaz. As things stand the Lions have not agreed terms with Yilmaz and have not been in direct talks with the player. Talks are between Galatasaray and Rangers.

The defender does not want to leave at a time when he has won over the trust of the manager and broke into the team. He has his sights set on playing regularly for Rangers and being called up for the Turkish national team, for the European Championship this summer.

The lack of depth at left-back, with only Yilmaz and Borna Barisic as options, is a major concern for the Scottish giants.

Yilmaz has started the last five league games for Rangers and scored in the 3-0 away win over Hibernian yesterday.

The 24-year-old also provided an assist in the previous game in the 3-1 away win over Kilmarnock.

Rangers have won four of the last five games Yilmaz has started in and has played all 90 minutes in the last five games.
