Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly faces the challenge of balancing Financial Fair Play regulations with building a competitive squad. Reports suggest he’s attempting to raise funds by offering fringe players to Turkish side Besiktas according to the Express.
The Blues wanted to sell players to Besiktas to make use of the Turkish transfer window being open later than most other major leagues – until 9 February.
Following Chelsea’s substantial summer spending under Boehly’s leadership, the club currently sits 11th in the Premier League. Complying with Financial Fair Play necessitates generating funds, prompting Boehly to seek player sales.

With the English transfer window closed, Chelsea reportedly approached Besiktas while their window remained open.
Defender Malang Sarr, struggling for playing time, was reportedly offered alongside young talents Deivid Washington and Andrey Santos (now on loan at Strasbourg).
Sarr’s future at Chelsea seems uncertain, further complicated by recent comments from manager Mauricio Pochettino. Whether Besiktas accepts these offers remains to be seen, but it signifies Chelsea’s intent to generate funds and streamline their squad.
Besiktas are planning to rebuild the team after a tumultuous season and have already started planning for next term.
The Black Eagles are already out of the title race and out of European competitions but could still finish in the top four in the league.
