Aston Villa Up Their Bid for Besiktas Starlet Semih Kilicsoy

Aston Villa are determined to land highly-rated Turkish forward Semih Kilicsoy, according to Gune Bakis.

Villa’s initial bid of €18 million, which also included left-back Alex Moreno, was reportedly rejected by Besiktas.

Undeterred, Villa have returned with a new proposal worth €30 million for the 18-year-old striker.

Kilicsoy established himself as a key player for Besiktas last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists across all competitions.

Besiktas want to keep the striker on as part of the squad rebuild this summer under the management of new head coach Giovanni van Brankhorst but they could be forced to sell for the right price.

Kilicsoy is under contract until 2028 so Besiktas have a strong hand at the negotiation table but with interest mounting they face an uphill task to keep him at the club this summer.

The striker is already a star name at Besiktas despite his age and was called up for the Turkish national team squad at Euro 2024 – despite only making one brief appearance.

Villa view Kilicsoy as a potential long-term solution alongside Ollie Watkins in attack, bolstering their squad for Champions League competition.

Kilicsoy’s ability to play across the front three and his room for growth under Unai Emery make him an attractive prospect for Villa.

If successful, securing Kilicsoy for €30 million could be a shrewd move by Aston Villa, with the young star’s potential offering significant long-term value.
