Real Madrid have experimented with a new midfield setup during a recent training session, featuring Arda Güler in a deeper role.

As the Spanish giants prepare for their upcoming friendly against Barcelona, manager Carlo Ancelotti has been evaluating different tactical options.

The friendly will be played at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.

Relevo journalist Jorge Picon tweeted that Ancelotti is likely to start Güler.

A notable formation change saw Güler deployed in a midfield role, alongside Luka Modrić and Dani Ceballos, with Rodrygo, Brahim Díaz, and Endrick forming the attacking trident.

The experiment showcased Güler’s versatility and ability to contribute effectively from a deeper position. While the formation is still under consideration, it offers an intriguing alternative for Ancelotti as he finalizes his team for the upcoming season.
