They will now face either AZ Alkmaar, Midtjylland, Real Sociedad, or Galatasaray in the next stage of the competition.
Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo scored the goals for United, while Bayindir kept a clean sheet.
The Turkish goalkeeper has faced competition from Andre Onana this season but has impressed in his appearances, including a penalty save in the FA Cup victory over Arsenal.
“A big thank you to our fans for supporting us away from home,” Bayindir wrote on Instagram. “Well done, team. Let’s keep going! YANITED [sic].”
United will now return their focus to Premier League action, facing Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manager Ruben Amorim decided to keep the team in Romania for a day before returning to Manchester to ensure they are properly rested and prepared for the upcoming fixture.
“There’s no other way to do it,” Amorim said. “We can go back and don’t sleep, don’t eat properly. So, we are going to eat now, sleep, some guys are going to train, we are going to recover. We arrive [back in Manchester] late [on Friday], some players can be a little bit upset, but it’s a good thing and they will be prepared for Sunday.”
Bayindir will be hoping to keep his place in the team when United face Palace in the Premier League.
