Rangers Consider Selling Yilmaz as Besiktas Seek Loan Deal

Rangers are considering selling left-back Ridvan Yilmaz before the January transfer window closes, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Besiktas have expressed interest in re-signing Yilmaz, but are only seeking a loan deal for the defender.

Rangers, however, are reportedly looking to recoup a transfer fee, valuing the 23-year-old at £4.1 million.

Yilmaz has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under manager Philippe Clement this season, with Jefte preferred at left-back.

While versatile and capable of playing in different positions, Yilmaz has not consistently featured in Clement’s starting XI.

A return to Besiktas could be appealing for Yilmaz, although he has not publicly expressed a desire to leave Rangers.

However, if Rangers are unable to find an adequate replacement for Yilmaz before the transfer window closes, they may opt to keep him at the club.

Yilmaz is no stranger to Besiktas having joined Rangers from the Turkish giants.

The Black Eagles want to strengthen the squad after appointing Ole Gunnar Solskjær as manager.

The Istanbul based side are already out of the title race after a disappointing start to the season.

Besiktas are 6th in the league 22 points behind leaders Galatasaray but are still in contention for a top four spot to qualify for Europe.
