A high-stakes transfer battle is reportedly brewing for Bayern Munich’s German international Leroy Sané, with Turkish Süper Lig rivals Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray leading a strong field of suitors as his contract situation at the Allianz Arena reaches a critical juncture.

According to Sky Germany, Fenerbahçe is preparing an audacious offer for the 29-year-old winger, reportedly ready to table a net annual wage of €15 million (£13m/$17m).

This substantial figure reflects the ambitious transfer strategy of the Istanbul powerhouse, driven by their intent to attract top-tier talent, potentially under the guidance of a new high-profile manager.

Not to be outdone, arch-rivals Galatasaray are also firmly in the mix, reportedly offering Sané a net annual salary in the range of €10 million (£8.5m/$11.5m) to €12 million (£10m/$13.5m).

The intense competition between the two Istanbul heavyweights is now set to spill over into the transfer market as they jostle for the services of the dynamic wide player.

Adding another layer of complexity, clubs from the Saudi Pro League are closely monitoring developments and are believed to be contemplating a significant financial package that could even surpass the most lucrative European bids.

While no formal offers have been submitted from Saudi Arabia yet, their looming presence adds considerable intrigue to Sané’s decision-making process.

Premier League side Arsenal are also reportedly keeping tabs on the situation, evaluating whether Sané could be a strategic addition to bolster their attacking depth, even if their financial proposals may not match those from Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

Despite the mounting external interest, Bayern Munich is reportedly determined to retain their star.

The German champions have tabled a revised contract offer to Sané, which includes performance-based incentives, in a concerted effort to persuade the former Manchester City forward to extend his stay in Bavaria.

Sané enjoyed a standout 2024-25 campaign, marking his most prolific Bundesliga season to date with 10 goals as Bayern reclaimed domestic glory under new management.

His current contract is set to expire on June 30, just after the commencement of the 2025 Club World Cup.

This impending deadline adds urgency to the ongoing negotiations, as Bayern aims to resolve his future before the prestigious tournament kicks off, especially given his status as one of the squad’s key contributors.
