Galatasaray is making headlines once again with another ambitious transfer target, as reports indicate they are pushing to sign Barcelona’s veteran goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.

The 33-year-old German international is a key target for the Turkish champions as they seek to replace their long-serving number one, Fernando Muslera, who is set to depart.

According to Fanatik, Galatasaray has reportedly reached a personal agreement with ter Stegen, with the goalkeeper concerned about his future at Camp Nou following Barcelona’s imminent signing of Joan Garcia and the presence of Wojciech Szczęsny.

A move to Galatasaray could offer ter Stegen regular first-team football, which would be crucial for his aspirations ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Galatasaray’s proposed offer is said to align with ter Stegen’s financial expectations, positioning him as a central figure in their defensive strategy and a mentor for younger players.

However, Barcelona is reportedly unwilling to let him leave on a free transfer and is seeking a full €42 million for his services. This valuation could be a sticking point in negotiations, especially as Barcelona focuses on financial recovery and youth integration under Hansi Flick.

The race for ter Stegen’s signature is heating up, with Manchester United and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal also reportedly showing interest.

The coming weeks will be critical in determining whether ter Stegen will don the yellow and red of Galatasaray or remain in Catalonia to fight for his place.
