Manchester United is reportedly considering a move for Galatasaray’s dynamic Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara as they prepare for a significant squad overhaul this summer according to Fotomac.
Following a disappointing 2024/25 season that saw the Red Devils finish a lowly 15th in the Premier League with 18 defeats, new manager Ruben Amorim is keen to reinforce key areas, with midfield a clear priority.
The need for midfield reinforcement at Old Trafford has become more acute with the confirmed departure of Christian Eriksen and ongoing uncertainty surrounding Casemiro’s future.

Manchester United has been linked with a range of midfielders, including Atalanta’s Ederson, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Eberechi Eze, RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney. Now, according to Turkish news outlet Fotomac, Gabriel Sara has been added to this extensive wishlist.
Fotomac claims that both Manchester United and Serie A club Inter Milan have emerged as major suitors for the 25-year-old.
Sara only made the switch to Galatasaray from Norwich City last summer, meaning he already possesses a degree of familiarity with English football, having made 96 appearances for the Canaries. During his time at Norwich, he showcased his attacking contributions with an impressive tally of 21 goals and 17 assists.
In his maiden campaign in Turkey, Sara continued to demonstrate his value, registering two goals and 10 assists across 45 games in all competitions for Galatasaray.
However, acquiring Sara will not be inexpensive. Fotomac reports that Galatasaray is seeking a transfer fee of around €30 million for the midfielder, a notable increase from the €18 million they paid to secure his services from Norwich.
Described as a dynamic and versatile midfielder, Sara is known to excel in a box-to-box role.
His high energy levels and ability to contribute effectively at both ends of the pitch would provide a much-needed boost to a Manchester United side that often appeared vulnerable and outmatched in midfield during the recent season.
Sara’s contract with Galatasaray extends until 2029, giving the Turkish champions a strong negotiating position as interested clubs come calling.
