Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz appears to be nearing a move back to his native Turkey, with reports suggesting he has given the green light for a loan to his former club, Besiktas. The potential transfer would bring an end to the 24-year-old’s two-year stay at Ibrox, a period marked by frustrating injuries.
Turkish outlet Fanatik claims that Yilmaz and his representatives have met with Besiktas and signaled their willingness to agree to personal terms once the clubs reach a deal. An official loan offer is now said to have been submitted to Rangers.

The left-back, who joined the Scottish giants from Besiktas in 2022, initially showed promise but has struggled to secure a consistent place in the team due to a series of fitness setbacks. His future at the club has been in question, especially after new loan signing Max Aarons was handed the number 3 jersey, a strong indicator that Yilmaz may not be in manager Russell Martin’s plans for the upcoming season.
This summer represents the latest chapter in a long-running transfer saga, as Yilmaz has been consistently linked with a return to Turkey throughout his time in Glasgow. However, this time, the pieces seem to be falling into place for a move that could see him rejoin his old team on a temporary basis.
