A transfer showdown is brewing in Istanbul as Turkish rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are reportedly set to compete for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The 28-year-old Malian international is a key target for both clubs, according to a report from Turkish outlet Takvim.

Bissouma’s future at Tottenham is uncertain following inconsistent performances since his €30 million move from Brighton in 2022.

Having made 100 appearances for the North London club, he has recently faced scrutiny for instances of on-field indiscipline.

With Tottenham reportedly willing to sell the player for a fee between €15-20 million, his availability has attracted significant interest.

Galatasaray, the reigning Süper Lig champions, are looking to bolster their midfield. They view Bissouma as an ideal replacement for Mario Lemina, who is approaching the final years of his career.

The club is reportedly ready to initiate contact with Tottenham and Bissouma’s representatives to push a deal forward.

Meanwhile, their fierce rivals Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, are also in the market for a new midfielder. With veteran Fred turning 30, Mourinho sees Bissouma as a valuable addition to his squad.

The prospect of a move to Turkey offers Bissouma a crucial decision for the peak years of his career, providing an opportunity for a fresh start. It remains to be seen which of the two Turkish giants will win the race for his signature as the transfer window progresses.
