Arsenal legend and football pundit Thierry Henry has revealed that he would pick Cesc Fabregas over Mesut Özil if he were in charge of the club.
Former Arsenal midfielder Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona on a €33 million move in the summer.
Henry responded to a question from fellow Sky Sports 1 panelist Jamie Carragher asking if Fabregas would play ahead of Özil in the current Arsenal team.
“If I was the boss I would try to bring him [Fabregas] back to Arsenal, I would have played him behind the striker in the middle, yes I would have put Özil on the bench for him,” Henry said.
It is difficult to make a comparison based on the two players first half of the season performance as Özil missed three months due to injury from October to December.
Özil has however, outperformed Fabregas in terms of statistics since the turn of the year.
The 26-year-old has scored more goals, provided more assists, created more chances and taken more shots on target than Fabregas in 2015 according to Goal.
