Riza Calimbay reveals he would drop everything to coach Besiktas

Mersin manager Rıza Çalımbay has revealed that he would drop everything at once if Beşiktaş make him an offer to take over as head coach in the summer.

“It would be wrong to talk with other clubs but Beşiktaş is different, everything changes when Beşiktaş are involved, I would put everything on hold for that,” Çalımbay told Radyospor.

Beşiktaş are currently managed by Slaven Bilic but he is expected to leave at the end of the season.

The Black Eagles crashed out of the title race on Monday 18 May after losing 1-0 against Konyaspor at the Osmanlı stadium in Ankara.

The Istanbul giants take on Galatasaray next in the derby and can still finish as runners up.

Mersin have performed above expectations this season, the newly promoted side are currently in eight place with two games left to play.

Çalımbay only played for Beşiktaş as a player over a career spanning 16 years during which he won several league titles.

The experienced manager has also coach Beşiktaş in the past.
