Gençlerbirliği manager Mesut Bakkal has resigned from his position despite the Ankara based side performing beyond expectations this season.
Bakkal replaced Irfan Buz who was fired from his job this morning following Gençlerbirliği’s 2-1 defeat to Eskisehirspor in February.
The Ankara based side had lost four games in a row and are were a win in six games when Bakkal took over.

Bakkal has previously managed Konyaspor, Karabukspor, Samsunspor, Ankaragucu, Sivasspor, Manisasor, Denizlispor and Gaziantepspor.
Gençlerbirliği are currently ninth in the Süper Lig on 40 points after 33 games.
The capital side were defeated by Mersin İdman Yurdu on Friday and have one game remaining this season.
Gençlerbirliği have now lost three consecutive games and will take on Istanbul giants Beşiktaş away from home next season. Despite technically being an away game the match will be played in Ankara at the Osmanlı stadium.
