Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil has stated that he would like to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League next season.
The 26-year-old would relish the opportunity to play against his old team mates Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Özil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £44 million back in September 2013.
“I’d like to play against Real Madrid, against my old friends. And then I’d get to see Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.” Özil told SportReview.
The Gunners, who lost the 2006 final to Barcelona, have never won the Champions League.
