Manchester United and Arsenal are once again front runners in the race to sign Ilkay Gündoğan from Dortmund following Barcelona’s decision to pull out of the race for the 24-year-old.
Spanish radio station Onda Cero journalist and football commentator Alfredo Martinez confirmed the news on his official Twitter page. Martinez tweeted that Gündoğan will not be moving to the Nou Camp any time soon.
With both Barcelona and Bayern Munich seemingly out of the race to sign Gündoğan Manchester United look to be in charge of the situation.

The Turkish news agency DHA claimed the Catalan giants had difficulties negotiating with Gündoğan’s agent – who happens to be his father – Irfan Gündoğan.
Bayern Munich – who were also interested in signing Gündoğan – have pulled out of the race to sign the Germany international after the clubs technical director Michael Reschke voted against the move.
Gündoğan finished the season with five assists and three goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
