Kazakhstan 0 – 1 Turkey
Turkey made hard work of there away trip to Kazakhstan but did manage to come away with all three points.
Fatih Terim’s side made a slow start to the game and were frustrated by the home side. The experienced manager took off Mehmet Topal for Volkan Sen at the start of the second half but the swap didn’t improve the away sides performance.
It wasn’t until Umut Bulut was brought on in place of Ozan Tufan and Hakan Calhanoglu was moved into a deeper role that Turkey finally started to dictate the tempo of the game.
Arda Turan scored the games only goal in the 83rd minute to keep Turkey’s slim hopes of qualification alive.
