Arsenal striker 99% likely to join Galatasaray says former chief scout

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is 99 percent likely to join Galatasaray according to the Lions former chief scout Mahmet Alpaslan.

“Podolski told me he would join Galatasaray if an offer is made so if bid has been made he is 99 percent likely to join,” Alpaslan told Radyospor.

The former chief scout also stated that Podolski was on the verge of joining Galatasaray back in 2011 but the deal broke down last minute.

“We were on the verge of bringing Podolski to Galatasaray in 2011 but it fell through at the last stages,” he added.

Podolski was reported to have revealed that he has agreed terms with Galatasaray according to the Metro.

“I have agreed with Galatasaray,” he was quoted as saying.

“I want to leave.”

Galatasaray have been closely linked with Podolski recently and head coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu stated that an offer was made for the World Cup winner in January.

Podolski joined Inter Milan on loan instead but had an unsuccessful spell only netting once in the league for the Italian giants.

The Lions will be able to offer Podolski regular first team Süper Lig and Champions League football.

Galatasaray won the league title for a record 20th time last season and will wear the fourth star on their shirts in the Champions League group stages next season.
